Will Rodman (James Franco) is a young scientist who is researching monkeys to obtain a treatment for Alzheimer's, a disease that affects his father (John Lithgow). One of those primates, a newborn chimpanzee whom Will took home to protect and calls Caesar (Andy Serkis), undergoes a truly surprising evolution in intelligence. In his study of the ape he will be helped by a beautiful primatologist named Caroline (Freida Pinto). DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: After the appearance of the devastating "apes virus" developed in a laboratory and which almost wiped out humans, a group of highly evolved apes, led by Caesar, have become the dominant race on the planet. The only threat to its development is represented by a group of humans who have survived the virus, to which they are now immune. The men need the energy of a prey near the ape settlement, so Caesar, always reasonable and seeking the good of his people, signs a peace truce to avoid breaking out a war that will determine which will be the dominant race.
