Synopsis Admiral Kirk's victory over Khan and the creation of the Genesis planet are empty triumphs: Spock is dead and McCoy is inexplicably going mad. A surprise visit from Spock's father provides a startling revelation: McCoy is home to Spock's living essence. Kirk attempts to steal the USS Enterprise and defy Starfleet surveillance of the Genesis planet to search for his friend, but the Klingons are planning a deadly encounter.
